Trust & safety
You are inviting someone into your service or your celebration. These are the checks we run, and — just as importantly — the ones we do not, so you know exactly what a badge on a profile means.
Identity verification
Every musician confirms their identity before a listing is published. A profile without this badge has not completed the check.
DBS where it matters
Musicians can add a DBS check to their profile, and you can filter for it. We do not claim DBS is required for every engagement — it depends on your setting, and that judgement stays with you.
Reviews tied to real bookings
Only a customer who completed a booking through SoundServe can review. This is slower to build up than open reviews, but it means what you read reflects actual engagements.
Reporting and disputes
If something goes wrong — a no-show, a misrepresented profile, or conduct that concerns you — report it and we will investigate. Listings can be suspended while we do.
What SoundServe is not
We are a marketplace, not an employer or an agency. Musicians here are independent and self-employed, and the engagement is a contract between you and them. Our checks reduce risk; they do not remove your own responsibility to satisfy yourself that a musician is right for your setting — particularly where work involves children or vulnerable adults.
